Took another walk tonight to look for the Hares, and just as I was going to give up, I spotted the pair hunkered down in the middle of a filed. They were very aware of me being there so I just sat and watched them for a while before they decided enough was enough and off they ran. It looks like one has a hole in its ear, but neither of them look like the two I was following for the last three years called Ernie and Diamond.
Back at home the sun was still up so I had a wander around the pond, and spotted the Mallards with 10 ducklings in tow, although try as I might I could only ever get nine of them in shot at any one time ! The Pied Wagtails look to be nesting now and the Oyster Catchers are still about.
The Lapwings were showing well but Ive not spotted a nest just yet and there was a pair of Wheatears flitting about as well. Not a bad evening stroll in two locations.
