A late afternoon dog walk as the sun was shining and the sky was blue so we headed along the coastal path close to Whitehaven. There was plenty of birds about, a Buzzard was circling above the wind farms and a lone Sparrow Hawk was trying to avoid the crows.
In the distance I spotted a Barn Owl hunting over the Willow plantation , too far away to watch carefully but great to see in the sunshine. It did a large loop out of sight before suddenly appearing just next to me, I had time to grab a few shots before it went off to sit on a post. It did this three times disappearing and then reappearing before flying off over the trees and disappearing into the sunset
