7 August 2024 : A grey night with a bit of sun but rain in the air, so just a short walk around a local area to see how the Hares were doing.
Tonight wasnt a night for birdwatching or venturing far from home as it looked like it could rain at any minute, so I thought I would go and look for the Hares. The rain held off and the Swallwos were out feeding low over the grass and there was even the odd Meadow Pipit sat on the fence posts. After a short while I spottedone of this years young Hares, so I knelt down in the wet grass and waited. I didnt need to wait too long and the Hare slowly hoped towards me, the winmd was in my face so he couldn’t smell me and he walked right up to me and hopped away without once seeing me.
Happy at the Hare encounter I headed home without seeing anything else apart from the odd soggy looking sheep.
