A very hot evening tonight, and after a week of trips out and seeing nothing I managed to find a Barn Owl. This is one of this years young learning to fly, it spent an hour flying around the barn before the excitement got too much and it went back in to roost ! There was no sign of the adults, but there was a lone Hare in the distance and a Small Tortoise Shell Butterfly on the gatepost.
