Tonight the sun shone and so I took a walk up to the new Barn Owl site. At first he was shy, sitting on a post about a mile away before disappearing, so I sat and watched the Buzzards and Kestrels hunting in the distance. I didn’t need to wait long though before he was back, he made a total of 3 trips from barn to field and took back a vole each time, so he must be feeding you, probably a second clutch of the year.
Great to have him fly passed me and look again before he was over the horizon and gone. I know have an idea of his hunting pattern and where he flys back too, so fingers crossed for some more shots soon.
