10 October 2026 – Autumn Arran Trip day eight

Today was a very mixed weather day, we had a lot of rain and wind, but also some sunny spells.

The Wildlife at `Kingscross was somewhat sparse, no Otters or Seals today, the first time in a week that we haven’t seen them, but it was still a good day. There were Oyster Catchers, Rock Pippetss, Curlews , Redshanks, Mute Swans, Gannets and plenty of gulls

In the afternoon we took a drive out to Sliddery further along the coast and on the way we were very lucky to spot Hen Harriers, Golden Eagles and Kestrels. Lovely to watch , but the weather made photographing them somewhat difficult, despite that I managed to get a few shots that were ok.

The day was rounded off with Hares and a show of Northern Lights above the cottage.
