At last the mist lifted after what seemed like 40 days and 40 nights and the sun came out , so I ventured outside with the camera. The pond was mirror like until three Greylag Geeese landed and stayed for a short while playing in the sun, further afield the Fieldfares and Redwings were eating berries and in the Hawthorn a Goldcrest was feeding on the lower ones. All in all an great early morning walk, which made me all the more motivated to get out later in the day as well.
Later in the evening and the following one as well , I took a trip to the barn to see the Barn Owls, and after only a few moments both of them flew out of the window and started hunting, then again today as well. There is only a short window now of about 40 mins when the light is right and they come out, but all too soon the sun goes in and you can no longer see them so ust as the light was failing I headed back to the car and spooted a lone male Hen Harrier flying in from the West, it circled the field before heading back the same way., a first for the area. Hopefully the clear weather will hold for a while longer and I can explore and see if I can catch some closer shots.
