Tonight the skies were clear and there was a forecast for the persoid meteor shower and maybe the Northern Lights. I headed out and within five minutes had spotted 5 or 6 shooting stars and then the sky started to turn purple, there were streaks of white and green as the lights danced, visable again with the naked eye, of course through the camera lense the true colours came out, and we spent a good hour watching the display until the clouds moved in and lights dimmed. This is the second time this year we have seen the lights and each time is an honour.
