Today was warm but very wet with low cloud, and so there was no early morning Otter hunt, instead we headed up the woods near Kildonnan for a walk up the waterfalls, the cloud was so low there was little in the way of wildlife to be seen, however the birds were in good voice, we just couldn’t see them !
After a nice but wet walk and a spot of lunch we headed down to the beach where right away we spotted an Otter hunting in the surf close to shore. We watched it go back and forth along the beach catching fish on nearly every dive for over an hour before it did one last dive and was gone.
What a great day with an unexpected highlight, apart from the Otter we also spotted a Grey Seal, Ruddy Turnstones, Black Headed Gulls, Oyster catchers, Hooded Crows and of course a Robin that followed us everywhere!
