We took a trip out of Cumbria this weekend and headed to Northumbria for a trip to the Farne Isles on Sat, on the way however we stopped off at Wallsend house and Alnwick along the river and were not disappointed.
The woods were full of small birds and the air was alive with birdsong, while along the river Aln, there were Mute Swans, more rabbits than you could count, Hares, Wagtails, Blackcap, Little Grebes and Moorhens, all with young.
A lovey day, and a good prelude for the big trip tomorrow and Puffins !
