13 – 16 November 2024 : A few grey days with sporadic sun and only a few wildlife sightings

The weather has been a bit hit and miss the last few days and so I’ve not managed to get out very much with the camera, however the odd break in the cloud and I did manage to see some interesting sights. The Teal have been busy on the pond , with 5 or 6 pairs on the water at its busiest, but they do spook easily and so the best I could manage is the odd shot of them leaving !

However, the Snipe which has been a sporadic visitor this year scares less easily and so I did manage to get a couple of long range shots while the sun was out before he too decided to leave.

The garden remains busy, with Starlings, Goldfinches, Greenfinches and Dunnocks all in large numbers, and the regular Blue, Great, Coal and Long Tailed tits all busy on the feeders, while the ever present Robin has been pottering about picking up the seeds all the rest drop .

The Barn Owls have been out and about but again the bad weather has limited their flying time and so Just a few long range shotsbut I remain ever hopeful . I trip up tonight to see them resulted in arriving just in time to see them disappear into the distance as the light went ! You can’t be lucky all the time I guess and the Barn Owls remain a one in 7 trips species watch this year .
