13 October 2026 – Arran Autumn Trip day 11

Another great day on Arran with a mixture of sun and very heavy showers as a storm looks like it’s coming in. This didn’t stop us and we headed up the East side of the Island from Brodick through Corrie to Lochranza and back.

The Brodick and Corrie coast were alive this morning with Little Egrets, Seals and all manner of Gulls, we stopped to look for Otters but instead watched a Grey Heron and three Egrets showing off on the rocks.

Up at Lochranza we sat in the rain looking for the Hump Back Whale that’s been sighted off the coast but despite lots of false alarms we were not lucky enough to see it. Instead we went looking for the Red Deer stags getting ready for the Rut, and found one group with a dominant 10 point Stag seeing off the young pretenders. Rain stopped play , but another wonderful day on the Isle
