Today the sun wasn’t shining but it wasn’t raining either so off we went for a walk around a lake not too far from home. This spot often has lots of Black Headed Gulls and Swans , but can occasionally throw up a nice surprise and today was one of those days !
Two minutes into the walk and in across the water we spotted the unmistakable splashing of an Otter . We watched the lone Otter which I think was a male down to its size, for an hour before it had eaten its fill and disappeared into the undergrowth. The Otter stayed in the middle of the lake and looked to be eating Eels.
What a fantastic way to have your daily walk ! I’m now checking the forecast and hoping for a sunny dawn tomorrow to see if I can get some closer shots. Watch this space.
