The weathers not been great but amidst the rain, Hail and Grey clouds, the sun did shine and when it did I went out ! By the pond the first batch of Mallard ducklings are down to 3 from 9, and I watched a Common Crow attacking the three remains birds, but thankfully the adult scared it off and the young lived to survive another day . Later the same day we witnessed the arrival of another brood of Mallard Ducklings arrive on the pond, 10 in total so it will be good to watch how they manage to survive.
Up at the Barn Owls, they have been quiet of late but tonight I managed to watch two birds flying from the Barn, they looked like two adults rather than a young one, but sadly they were hunting at the far end of the field so no close up shots, still it was great to see them out.
