Today dawned cloudy and cold, but with the forecast set to improve as the day progresse we headed out to Scalpsie Bay to see if the Seals were out and about. When we arrived the tide high and the Seals were elsewhere apart from a couple who had slept in tin the rocks ! Despite the dark clouds and biting winds its a wonderful place to spend time watching the Curlews, Hares, Oyster Catcher, Ringed Plover and Buzzards.
We then set off on a bit of tour , finishing at Ettrick Bay, we hoped for an Otter as the sun came out , but there were none to be seen today. However with a little help from a local in a bird hide we managed to find a pair of Great Northern Divers, Ive seen them before but never close enough to get a photo of them. We sat and watched them for them for a good half an hour before they got too far from the shore.
A great day all in all, tomorrow we are looming at heading to the North West of the Island, and with good weather forecast it should be another great day.
