Another very hot and sunny day on Arran, the day started and ended with a walk around Kingcross point watching the Gannets diving, the Eiders and the Cormorants.
During the day we took a walk to Kildonan beach, this area is well know as an Otter area, but today was so bright and hot we didn’t expect to see any. However, the walk along the beach from the Castle to the headland was superb. The Oyster Catcher were nesting on the beach, the rocks were alive with Whimbrels, and all manner of beach birdlife was in place and showing well, there was even a pair of Seals popping up every few minutes next to a pair of feeding Red Breasted Mergansers.
