Early in the day we went for a walk and spotted a few Stonechats and the odd small bird, but the sun was a bit bright and everything stayed away, so we called it away and made plans to visit somewhere else this evening.
So tonightI went to look for Badgers at a secret location and wasn’t disappointed! Within minutes of arriving a male Badger appeared looking for food in the bracken. He didnt stay long as he wandered too close to a deer with its young, the deer was aggressive and chased him away three times before he got the message and went elsewhere. Another Badger appeared and he spent the next hour and a half foraging for food, a total joy to watch before it got too dark to see him anymore.
Once I got home, bussing from the excitement, what a joy it was to see the Tawny Owl had been to visit the garden. He doesn’t seem to go into the Owl box but he definitely knows where to find it now
An amazing night and the best way to spend a Bank Holiday
