09 October 2026 – Arran Autumn Trip day Seven

Day Seven of our trip and we had some weather ! one minute it was torrential, the next windy then Sunny all in half and hour and it repeated all day. As a result of the weather we had to choose our times for wildlife spotting quickly !

First thing today in the bay near Kingscross, there was a lone Otter out at sea, it hunted for about 30 minutes before heading off and replaced by a lone Seal doing the same. There were the usual suspects, Oyster Catchers, Whimbrel, Curlew and Gannets before rain stopped play.

We headed off to the woods near to Brodick castle to see if the Red Squirrels were out, and other than a quick distant glimpse of a pair they were hiding from the rain.

Back at Lamlash the Seals were posing nicely on the rocks and a quick wander to Kingscross was cut short by wind and rain.

A really nice day with some glimpses of the wildlife.
