The sun came out and with it the first Swallow of the year arrived over the pond today.

March 24 2024: Parkside , Cleator Moor, Cumbria

The first sunny day for a while, cold but clear. The garden was quiet save from the usual suspects, but the pond was busier with a pari of nesting Mallards, two Oyster catchers, a lone Cormorant fishing and a couple of Pied Wagtails flitting about. Perhaps the most exciting spot though was the one lone Swallow, this is the first one to arrive this year and is a full 7 days earlier than last year
