This was taken at dawn on the Moors just outside of Cleator Moor in West Cumbria. The young deer was making his way towards the road, and didn’t see me as it passed me by only a few yards away.

This large dog Otter visited a pond on the outskirts of Cleator Moor, West Cumbria for two days. It fed on Tench and Carp early in the mornings before disappearing for the rest of the day.

Taken one very early morning from one of the hides at RSPB Leighton Moss. The weather wasnt great and there was heavy rain, but that only added to the atmosphere.

Brown Hares were common in Cumbria once upon a time, but a combination of dimishing grass lands and illegle hunting had seen numbers decline.
Thankfully in recent years the numbers seem to be on the increase once again, although the locations of Hares is still kept secret to prevent low life hunters finding them
