This Barn Owl oftens hunts in the fields around our home in Westr Cumbria, buts is often hard to photo as he prefers it to be very dark. A combination of three days rain, and chicks in the nest forced this male out in daylight just before dusk

These photos were taken on the Inner Farne Isles at the Puffin Coloney, shortly after we visted the whole area was closed due to an outbreak of Avian Flu. Thankfully this situation seems to be getting better now and tours to the reserve are once again possible
