These photos were taken on the Inner Farne Isles at the Puffin Coloney, shortly after we visted the whole area was closed due to an outbreak of Avian Flu. Thankfully this situation seems to be getting better now and tours to the reserve are once again possible

Wheatears are often hard to find as they are ellusive shy birds, but on the moorland outside Cleator Moor they are present in good numbers and so if you are quiet and patient you will often get to see them in the grassland.
