A very wet grey day put paid to any wildlife trips, but at dusk the clouds parted a little and the rain stopped so I nipped out for an evening stroll to see if anything was out and about. Luck was with me, and despite the cloudy , grey light I stumbled across a Willow Warbler and a pair of young Roe Deer in the trees by the track, and almost immediately after the Barn Owl came out to hunt !
I sat for an hour or so just watching it hunt , my wildlife batteries sufficiently charged I called it a day just before it started raining .
